Class 3 Malocclusion

Imperfect positioning of your teeth is the basis for defining malocclusion, whether it's malocclusion type two or malocclusion type one. We pride ourselves on providing patients with their desired transformation, in even the most complex cases.

Classes of malocclusion

There are several ways to classify malocclusion, and over time, some orthodontists have developed additional systems and their own grading methods.

Can malocclusion be fixed?

Overbite Correction

When your upper front teeth overlap your lower front teeth while your mouth is closed, that is considered normal to a certain extent. A slight overlap is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. However, a pronounced overbite can cause problems, such as biting your gums with your front teeth or biting the roof of your mouth with your lower front teeth.

Dental Crowding

Crowding means there isn’t enough space in the jaw for your teeth to align properly. As a result, teeth can become crooked, overlap, or twist. Crowding can make it difficult to maintain good oral hygiene and clean between the teeth, making it one of the most common reasons adults seek orthodontic treatment.

Underbite Correction

An underbite occurs when your lower front teeth are positioned much farther forward than your upper front teeth, so that your lower teeth overlap your upper teeth when you bite down.

What are the symptoms of malocclusion?

Symptoms can range from nonexistent to severe, depending on the type and severity. Common symptoms include: crooked teeth, difficulty breathing through the mouth, speech problems, difficulty chewing or biting, tongue and cheek biting, cosmetic concerns, both related to your smile and facial features.

Diastema

Anterior Crossbite

Consequences of malocclusion

Left untreated, your malocclusion can cause several problems, ranging from chronic TMJ, or jaw pain, speech impediments and functional problems with chewing.

How do you treat malocclusion?

Clear Aligners

Mild to moderate cases can be effectively treated with clear aligners, sometimes called invisible braces, such as those from Impress. Aligners gradually move your teeth by applying gentle pressure.

Traditional Braces

You're probably familiar with traditional braces, made of metal wires and brackets attached to your teeth. While traditional braces can address severe malocclusion, the treatment process is often slow. The wires are tightened over time to align the teeth.

Palate expander spacers

Spacers are used to create space between teeth, usually between the molars, when there isn't enough room for the metal bands of the braces to fit around them.

Very impressed with the service

Very impressed with the service. The team are very professional, also the app is really good and clear, keeping you up to date and engaged with your progress. I like how you can compare your week 1 images to current images to see the progress and changes that have been made. Would definitely recommend to others. Oussama was very helpful. They gave me a courtesy call to check how I am finding things and asked me if there's anything else I need help with.

Impress review

I am about halfway through my treatment and happy with the results so far. Impress was the only service that offered a free consultation with a dentist before entering into a contract (that I could find). I was able to ask lots of questions so that when I decided to go ahead, it was an informed decision. The app and the support helpline have also been helpful. The staff are polite and resolve any queries I have quickly. My experience at Impress was outstanding
