Crooked teeth transformation

Not everyone has naturally beautiful teeth. Crooked teeth don't necessarily lead to a physical problem; it may be a cosmetic issue. If you don't have straight teeth, you might see proportional imbalances when you look in the mirror. Maybe you feel embarrassed and shy away from smiling freely in public. Crooked teeth can naturally continue to deteriorate over time. There may be a congenital cause or not enough room in the jaw for all the teeth, causing them to overlap. Conversely, there can also be too much space in the mouth, causing gaps between your teeth. If you have gum disease, or have lost teeth as a result of tooth disease, or perhaps an impact accident to the face or mouth, the rest of the teeth can also become crooked. There is a solution.

Three simple steps for straighter teeth

Traditional braces

Traditional metal braces are well known and are offered most commonly by the NHS. They are also used in cases of malocclusion correction in adults. There are less visible variants, such as ceramic braces and lingual braces, which are placed on the inside of the teeth. However, they all have one thing in common: adjustments are usually painful, requiring regular trips to the dentist. What's more, they're fixed and can't be removed during your treatment.

Invisible aligners

Invisible braces, also known as aligners, are discreet and comfortable. You wear them 22 hours a day and gradually work towards your final result, changing aligners every 1-3 weeks. They're one of the most popular and effective ways to achieve straight teeth.

Dental veneers

Dental veneers are porcelain, resin, or composite covers that are placed over crooked or damaged teeth. They offer immediately visible results, but their purpose is primarily aesthetic. This means they don't really correct as such, but "mask" your malocclusion. Another major disadvantage of dental veneers is that they must be replaced every few years.

Preparing for orthodontic aligners

Book an appointment with an Impress clinic near you and explore your options with our orthodontists following a 3D scan of your teeth. We'll assess the health of your teeth and provide ample time for you to ask any questions.

During your orthodontic treatment

Throughout your treatment, you'll have an orthodontist supervising your progress. You can also contact us from home through the Impress app. Treatment lasts on average between 4 and 9 months, depending on the case.

After aligner treatment

Once your teeth straightening treatment is finished, it's important to discuss a dental retainer with your orthodontist. Now is the perfect time for the final step! Get a fixed retainer so your teeth stay straight in the future.
